In 2017, Special Olympics PEI was approaching a major project for better health conditions and service for people with intellectual disabilities across Prince Edward Island. Their planning and implementation needed to include a vision for holistic health.
Using the Circle of Health during the foundational stage of project planning helped Special Olympics to strengthen their proposal and identify stakeholders and partners, resulting in successful grant applications. They used the Circle of Health to identify gaps, and support and strengthen their activities to better support the project. Using the Circle of Health taught them about diversity in the thought process, to have the greatest impact in providing a holistic approach to decision making.
